About the Role

As a Food Studies Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging, practical and purposeful learning experiences that support pupils' academic, social and personal development. Working with individual pupils and small groups, you will create a safe, stimulating and well organised environment that enables every learner to progress at an appropriate pace. You will also contribute to wider school priorities, work collaboratively with colleagues across departments, and help maintain a consistent and supportive approach for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high quality Food Studies lessons that align with the school's curriculum and policies.
  • Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress, ensuring learning plans and behaviour plans are effectively implemented and reviewed.
  • Create a safe, well organised and engaging classroom environment, including the appropriate use of resources and risk assessments.
  • Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants and care staff to ensure pupils receive consistent, well coordinated support.
  • Contribute to school improvement by supporting the development of teaching, learning and subject provision across key stages.
  • Manage challenging behaviour positively, supporting pupils to develop self regulation and independence.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents and other professionals to ensure a consistent approach between school and home.
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities, ensuring the safety, wellbeing and dignity of every pupil.
