Overview

An exciting opportunity to join the internationally acclaimed Spinal Surgery Team at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The service is expanding with increased theatre capacity and enabling technologies to serve our patients in line with our Trust values.

Positions
  • Two full-time Consultant Spinal Surgeons (one with an interest in Adult tumour surgery and one with an interest in complex Paediatric deformity).
Responsibilities
  • Provide surgery for complex spinal patients, with a focus on paediatric deformity and a substantial element of adult elective degenerative and emergency spinal surgery for the Thames Valley region.
  • Inpatient and day case surgery, outpatient clinics, and participation in a 24/7 on-call service (1 in 10 or 1 in 12 on call as applicable).
  • Work as part of an integrated team of consultants (academic, regional, and neurosurgical colleagues).
  • Contribute to research and service quality improvement within the department.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Subspecialty fellowship level training.
  • Consultant experience would be desirable but not essential.
