Position: Salaried GP (with option of Safeguarding Lead)

Job Summary

General Practitioner (GP) – permanent contract – three to nine sessions a week at £11,500 per session. Option to become Safeguarding Lead for £12,500 per session. No out‑of‑hours or weekend commitments, with overtime opportunities.

The Role

Provide acute and chronic care in duty clinician sessions and routine appointments. Manage acute presentations, chronic disease monitoring, and long‑term condition planning. Administer safeguarding leadership if elected.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in first contact and routine sessions.
  • Proactively identify, diagnose, and manage long‑term conditions.
  • Triage and prioritise patients, including emergency situations.
  • Maintain accurate and systematic documentation of clinical care.
  • Signpost to appropriate services within local healthcare pathways.
  • Communicate effectively with multi‑professional teams and patients.
  • Adhere to data protection legislation and maintain professional registration.
  • Optional:
    Provide safeguarding leadership to clinical and non‑clinical teams.
  • Recognised medical degree (MBChB, MBBS or equivalent).
  • Full GMC registration and GP certification (CCT).
  • Experience in GP practice and primary care.
  • Commitment to continuous personal development.
  • Strong clinical reasoning, assessment, and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork.
  • Knowledge of EMIS, Doc Man and ICE (desirable).
  • Safeguarding or clinical lead experience (desirable).
