- Ward rounds, routine ward work and operating sessions
- Outpatient clinics
- Assessment of junior colleagues – familiar with ISCP process
- Contribute to specialist trainee assessment
- Occasional visits to peripheral outpatient clinics in the region
- GMC Registration with licence to work
- FRCS (SN) or equivalent
- Higher Medical Degree/CCT
- General training in Neurosurgery to specialist level or equivalent
- Interest in research with publications
- Sufficient leadership, organisational, communication, professional and personal skills to undertake the role effectively
- Good personal and interpersonal skills
- Good spoken and written English – highly developed communication skills
- Knowledge of NHS organisation and Government agenda for modernisation
