A one year postin Endocrine Surgery is available at the Churchill Hospital, Oxford for a specialist register (ST5-8) The post is available for 1 year from July 2026
The post does include participation in the Emergency General Surgical Rota at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

Any person who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis, in consultation with consultant colleagues. Suitably qualified job-share candidates will receive serious consideration
Main duties of the jobOutpatient clinics: Exposure to over 40-50 patients per week under the supervision of two Consultants and one Senior Fellow
- Clinical assessment of neck lumps and decision about appropriate investigations
- Understanding the metabolic tests for hypercalcaemia
- Understanding the interpretation of biochemical tests for adrenal function
- Demonstrating an understanding of radiological imaging (e.g. retrosternal goiters, localization of parathyroid adenoma, adrenal tumours)
Operating lists: Three operating lists (28 hours) per week with extensive exposure to thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery (total of 500 endocrine cases/year). Based on published national figures from BAETS audit this unit has the largest adrenal workload and one of the largest in thyroid/parathyroid surgery in the UK.
