Senior Associate Building Surveyor

A well-established and growing multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking a Senior Associate Building Surveyor to join its Oxford office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor to lead and deliver a range of professional and project-based building surveying services across private and commercial sector clients. The role will involve managing complex commissions, mentoring junior team members and contributing to the strategic growth of the building surveying discipline.

The successful candidate will also play an important role in business development, client relationship management and supporting the wider growth of the team.

Due to the nature of some projects, security clearance may be required.

The Role
  • Act as Lead Consultant delivering a range of building surveying projects
  • Manage and deliver professional and project-based building surveying services
  • Work independently on projects while collaborating with colleagues across the wider team
  • Prepare specifications and documentation required for tender processes
  • Assist in the preparation of building regulation and planning applications

    Liaise with relevant authorities to support project approvals and compliance
  • Manage project workloads, deadlines and project programmes in coordination with clients
  • Manage the design and drawing preparation process
  • Assess tenders and provide recommendations to clients
  • Chair and minute project meetings
  • Deliver contract administration throughout the construction phase
  • Monitor project expenditure and ensure projects are delivered within agreed budgets and timescales
  • Negotiate and agree final accounts with contractors
  • Ensure all project documentation meets the highest standards of accuracy and quality
Requirements
  • Degree in Building Surveying
  • Chartered Building Surveyor status or working towards RICS chartership
  • Strong experience delivering building surveying services across a range of project types
  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage projects, teams and client relationships effectively
  • Strong commercial awareness and project delivery experience
