We are recruiting an enthusiastic, driven and highly experienced Senior or Associate Quantity Surveyor to be site based on a demanding but highly prestigious array of large value projects in Oxfordshire. For this role, you must be experienced in either the construction consultancy or main contractor environment, be client facing and be able to apply your skills to a diverse number of functions under a contract administration umbrella offering exceptional project governance and client satisfaction.
This role is ideal for someone confident in managing and preparing recommendations on the contractual aspects of a project including preparing construction contracts, managing those contracts as they are executed, and assessing contract entitlement, change control and complex stakeholder management. You will need to be able to prepare, assess and manage variations, provisional sums, change requests and change control documentation with a robust and fair approach, whilst being able to prepare formal correspondence in accordance with the contract terms.
If you have proven construction commercial experience in the required areas, this role will offer you the opportunity to lead on a prestigious project and develop your career as a Senior or Associate undertaking tasks both independently and where appropriate under the guidance of Partners within the Ridge business. There is further scope for you to develop Ridge’s offering utilising any existing relationships to support work winning and fee earning commissions.

- Ability to successfully manage sections of high value, complex schemes.
- Proven construction Commercial experience.
- Ability to manage and direct professional teams including multi discipline designers, Tier 1 contractors, and clients.
- Experience of pre-construction, construction and handover stages of a project.
- Experience of projects containing high volumes of client and contractor led change.
- Proven ability to interpret construction contracts, and confidently write formal contract communications.
- An ability to take on responsibility and work autonomously.
- Provide clear reports and updates to senior management and the client.
- An understanding and application of JCT and NEC forms of contracts is essential.
- Proven track record of developing client relationships.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast paced environments.
- Be a confident communicator with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel regularly to site within Oxfordshire.
- Professional accreditation - either RICS, CIOB or APM.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence delivering presentations and holding client and contractor facing meetings.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office software.
- Experience of utilising Contract Management software.
- Proficient in writing formal contract communications based upon contract documentation.
- Proficient in building new client relationships through networking and work winning.
- Ability to use ‘Smartsheet’ cloud-based work management and collaboration tool.
- A degree in Construction Law and Practice (LLM or MSc).
- Work winning and business development.
- Demonstrable experience of construction management contract applications.
