Salary: £26,100 per annum

Hours:
Permanent – Part-Time – 20 or 30 hours a week – night shifts (2 or 3 a week)

A bit about the roleOur Residential Support Workers create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop. We are specifically looking for a Residential Support Worker who has had experience leading a team or may have been called a senior in a similar role. You will ensure their wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance and advocacy. It is key that they stay safe and healthy and can reach their full potential.

A Bit about the ServiceViking House is our Children's Short Break centre in Headington for children with disabilities who have a diagnosis of autism, complex health needs and/or complex behaviour, up to the ages 4 to 18.
The centre provides a structured environment and nursing care; as a nurse within the service you will give parents and carers the opportunity to recharge their batteries in the knowledge that their child is in a safe and stimulating environment.
The Role in PracticeOur Residential Support Worker works in a dedicated team through shifts with expertise and empathy. Their proactive approach to risk management and safeguarding our young people's wellbeing allows us to deliver the highest quality of care. With a commitment to continuous improvement, they'll ensure the wellbeing of our children and young people is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance, and advocacy.

How you will help create brighter futuresIn the role as Residential Support Worker, you will be promoting Action for Children's values as well as supporting the Registered Manager, Service Coordinator and Team Leaders to achieve positive outcomes for the young person.
What you will be doing- Providing lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing and managing risk.
- Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi-agency teams and producing family information, including analysis and written reports.
- Attending professional meetings including reviews, court work, etc.
- Being resilient in supporting the young people through challenging situations.
