Your First Step into an Automotive Career
Are you looking to start your career and want a role where you can learn, grow, and progress? Whether you’re leaving education or entering the world of work for the first time, this is a fantastic opportunity to build a long-term future in the automotive industry.
At Steven Eagell, we’re looking for a motivated individual with little or no previous work experience to join our Aftersales team as a Trainee Parts & Service Advisor. This role gives you exposure to both Parts and Service, helping you develop a broad skillset and opening the door to multiple career paths within the business.
Learning & DevelopmentYou’ll be fully supported as you learn all aspects of our Aftersales operation in a live dealership environment. While there is no fixed training programme, we estimate it typically takes around 18–24 months for someone new to the industry to become fully confident and up to speed across all areas of Aftersales.
Once you reach this level, opportunities for progression are likely, with potential career paths including Service Advisor, Parts Advisor, Service Manager, Parts Manager, and other leadership roles within the automotive sector.
ResponsibilitiesWith training, guidance and support from experienced colleagues, you’ll:
- Use dealership systems to manage stock movements and raise orders.
- Communicate with customers and colleagues in person, by phone, and via email.
- Develop skills to support parts sales and handle trade and retail enquiries.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service and contribute to positive aftersales experiences.
- Assist with booking and scheduling service and repair work.
- Work closely with technicians to keep customers informed.
- Support the Aftersales team to ensure customers are always looked after.
- Make follow-up calls (with guidance) to check customer satisfaction.
We’re not focused on experience - attitude and potential matter more.
We’d love to hear from you if you are:
- Computer literate or willing to learn
- Well organised and reliable
- Comfortable dealing with different types of people
- Keen to learn, study, and develop new skills
- Genuinely interested in progressing within the automotive industry
- Able to think logically and follow instructions
- A good listener and a team player
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment
- A supportive and welcoming dealership environment
- On-the-job learning with experienced professionals
- Exposure to both Parts and Service, not just one role
- Clear long-term career opportunities once fully trained
If you’re ambitious, motivated, and looking for more than just a first job, this role could be the start of a rewarding automotive career.
