St John’s College is one of the larger colleges within the University of Oxford. Founded in 1555 by Sir Thomas White, the College is a long-established member of the thirty-eight colleges of Oxford University. Like all colleges, it is an independent, self-governing establishment, which functions both as an academic institution and as a social and residential centre for its members. The post holder will support the Events team with coordination of the College’s bookable guest rooms and calendar of events; marketing and delivery of all events services, including external events as well as College-led functions. They will serve as initial point of enquiry and be the liaison partner between room booker or event organiser and relevant domestic services and college departments.

Event organisers range from external conference business to a number of internal stakeholders, such as the President’s Office, Development & Alumni Relations, Access & Outreach, performing arts, student and academic-related events.

It is estimated that the role is for about two thirds of the time administrative and office based, while the remaining third is hands‑on, practical support to deliver events. The position requires a degree of flexibility towards working hours, including some occasional evening and weekend work.

The salary is £18,749 per annum (FTE £30,000 per annum) depending on experience. Working pattern is 25hrs/week, Monday-Friday. Weekend and evening work is expected as part of the role. Further particulars can be downloaded .
