Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant in Oxford, Ohio. In this role, you will contribute to the financial operations of multiple non-profit entities, ensuring accurate and timely accounting processes. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for growth in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

- Manage financial operations for three non-profit organizations, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

- Perform general accounting tasks, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and journal entries.

- Collaborate daily with teams handling accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other financial functions.

- Assist with monthly and year-end financial closings, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and expense accounts to maintain financial integrity.

- Conduct daily and monthly bank and cash reconciliations with precision.

- Support the accounting team in preparing for annual audits, ensuring compliance and readiness.

- Handle sensitive and confidential financial data with discretion.

- Utilize accounting software to streamline processes and maintain records.

- Take on additional duties as assigned to support organizational goals.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.

- Minimum of three years of accounting experience with attention to detail.

- Proficiency in general accounting practices, including journal entries and reconciliations.

- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, along with 10-key proficiency.

- Ability to learn and adapt to new accounting software systems.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Knowledge of Accufund accounting software is a plus; familiarity with Salesforce-based systems is desirable.

- Ability to work in an office environment with regular attendance and occasional physical tasks.
