Overview

Accentuate Staffing is currently seeking a Planner Buyer for a manufacturing client in Oxford, NC. This role is responsible for end-to-end planning and procurement for assigned product lines, including production scheduling, material planning, inventory control, and supplier management. The Planner Buyer ensures materials, components, and finished goods are available to meet production schedules and customer demand while maintaining optimal inventory levels and cost controls.

This position partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance teams to align production priorities, resolve material or capacity constraints, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and adjust production schedules based on demand, inventory, and capacity
  • Monitor work orders and material availability to ensure on-time production
  • Analyze MRP data and issue purchase orders aligned with production needs
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels and track shortages or excess materials
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams
  • Expedite orders and communicate material or schedule changes
  • Conduct supplier reviews, negotiate pricing, and track performance
  • Maintain procurement records, reports, and metrics
  • Support continuous improvement in planning and procurement processes
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field and 5 years of purchasing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in materials planning, purchasing, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with production scheduling and cross-functional coordination.
  • Strong understanding of demand forecasting, MRP/ERP systems, inventory control, and lead-time management.
  • Experience working in an ERP/MRP environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Professional, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
