Position Title: Bus Monitor
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Department: Transportation
Reports to: Director of Transportation
Location: Assigned Bus Routes
Salary Scale: Bus Monitor Scale
Position Type: Full/Part time
Salary Range: $15.00/hr-$20.83/hr
Description of Position: The Bus Monitor assists in the safe transport of students by maintaining order and ensuring adherence to safety protocols on the school bus.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Student Support and Supervision (75%)- Assist students on and off the bus
- Monitor behavior and ensure safety
- Support students with special needs
- Report concerns to driver and transportation staff
- Maintain clear communication with school officials
Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working with children
- Ability to follow safety protocols
- All employees hired by the school district must pass a criminal background and child abuse registry check.
- Training in student behavior management
- CPR/First Aid certification
