ABOUT THE CANDIDATE / ROLE

Tradewind Aviation is looking for a full‑time Dispatcher to be based in Oxford, CT. Dispatchers ensure the safe and expeditious flow of company aircraft. They will work closely with Scheduling to ensure clients are receiving the best possible customer service. The ideal candidate will maintain situational awareness, address issues as soon as practical, work well in a team environment and have excellent communication skills.

ESSENTIAL

DUTIES
  • Maintain a culture of total client service, focused on anticipating client needs and exceeding their expectations.
  • Identify safety hazards and report to a supervisor or through the Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Flight follow aircraft.
  • Advise Scheduling and/or Client Services of operational issues that may impact the schedule.
  • Track issues for resolution in scheduling software.
  • Monitor weather conditions in operational areas.
  • Arrange international handling with customs/vendors.
  • Coordinate services with FBOs.
  • Set up slots or reservations with airports.
  • Plan and book crew logistics.
  • Communicate directly with flight crews of any changes to their current schedule.
  • Notify crew members of the next day’s duty and flight schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous aviation experience preferred.
  • Experience in aviation scheduling software preferred.
  • FAA dispatch license preferred.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to handle frequent changes.
  • Capability to handle stressful situations in a professional manner.
  • Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs. at times.
