Job Summary (List Format)
- Works under the supervision of the unit Supervisor/Manager/Director.
- Delivers patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Directs and guides patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel.
- Maintains professional nursing standards and Memorial Healthcare policies and procedures.
- Provides superior service that contributes to positive patient and family experiences.
- Assesses patients’ physical, psychological, social, and educational needs upon admission.
- Develops and initiates a written care plan within 24 hours of admission.
- Implements, evaluates, and updates care plans as needed or at least every 24 hours.
- Supports patients and families emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually.
- Promotes patient independence through education on conditions, medications, and self-care.
- Ensures quality care by adhering to hospital, state, and regulatory standards.
- Addresses patient problems and needs using multidisciplinary team strategies.
- Follows infection-control, medication administration, and controlled substance policies.
- Maintains continuity of care through accurate documentation and communication.
- Builds cooperative relationships with healthcare teams; participates in team problem-solving.
- Delegates, communicates with, and evaluates team members using leadership skills.
- Recognizes and responds to changes in patient status; documents interventions.
- Provides ongoing patient and family education tailored to daily assessments.
- Prioritizes care based on individual patient needs.
- Initiates referrals in collaboration with case management to support discharge planning.
- Participates in continuing education, inservice, and unit/hospital committees.
- Communicates unit issues via chain of command and engages in problem-solving.
- Demonstrates patient safety practices for a safe care environment and effective technology use.
- Understands and supports hospital mission, vision, values, confidentiality, and compliance.
- Provides age-appropriate care based on principles of growth and development.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years Med Surg experience (required)
- Experience floating to PCU (required)
- Proficient with telemetry and able to read/interpret heart rhythms (required)
- Must pass dysrhythmia test prior to floor work
- ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications (required)
- Michigan RN license, active (required)
- COVID vaccine required (exemptions allowed)
- Weekend work required every other weekend; no on-call duties
- Profile must include work history, recent skills checklist, and 2 supervisory references
Reliant Staffing Solutions/RSS Medical Job . Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
