The Prep Cook supports the kitchen team by preparing ingredients and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This role ensures that all food preparation tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with health and safety standards, contributing to a positive guest experience in the gaming facility’s dining operations.

• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning food items according to recipes and kitchen standards.
• Ensure that all prepared items are properly stored, labeled, and rotated to maintain freshness and prevent waste.
• Assist in setting up and breaking down kitchen stations, ensuring they are clean, organized, and ready for service.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and utensils in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and kitchen supplies, notifying supervisors of shortages or replenishment needs.
• Follow all recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistency and quality in food preparation.
• Handle and operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handwashing and use of gloves.
• Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring proper handling and storage of perishable items.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation and handling procedures.

• Ability to work efficiently and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment.
• Reliable and punctual attendance.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and nights.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role preferred.
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.

• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and walking.
• Manual dexterity to operate kitchen tools and equipment.
• Ability to work in hot, humid, and fast‑paced environments.
