Overview

Audubon Animal Hospital, a Care Vet partner, is seeking a compassionate Veterinarian to join our well‑established practice in Owensboro, Kentucky. This position offers a six‑figure salary plus production, clinical support, schedule flexibility, and an Equity Bonus Package valued up to $90,000 — a real investment in your future!

This opportunity is primarily based at our Audubon location, with the option to rotate one Saturday per month (5th or 6th Saturday) at our sister hospital, Towne Square Animal Hospital. You’ll see a variety of cases, including general practice, urgent care, and surgery, with some exposure to exotic pets. Our facility features four exam rooms, ultrasound, digital X‑ray, therapy laser, and an endoscope.

Appointment times are 30 minutes, allowing for thorough and personalized patient care. You’ll be supported by a dedicated team of two veterinarians and six technicians, all eager to collaborate and provide mentorship.

Responsibilities
  • Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
  • Treat and dress wounds
  • Perform surgery on animals
  • Test for and vaccinate against diseases
  • Operate medical equipment, such as x‑ray machines
  • Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
  • Prescribe medication
  • Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • Licensure in the state where the candidate will be working
  • Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
  • Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
  • Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
  • Strong fondness and understanding of animals
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of animal behavior
  • Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
