Wendell Foster is interested in hiring energetic Direct Support Professionals for our Supports for Community Living Department to join the team of #Difference Makers!

What matters to you
  • This role follows a 6-days-on, 6-days-off schedule. During your work rotation, you will complete two 16-hour shifts (4:00 PM–8:00 AM) and one 8-hour overnight shift (12:00 AM–8:00 AM)
  • DSP needed in SCL for the following shifts:
  • Wed–Thu: 4:00 PM – 8:00 AM
  • Thu–Fri: 4:00 PM – 8:00 AM
  • Friday: 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM
  • New hourly rate starting at $16.00
  • 8 paid holidays each year
  • Double time pay for holiday hours worked

What matters to us
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred
  • Upon hire, must complete all training required by the Division of Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities and become certified in CPR and first aid (training provided)
  • Ability to drive facility vehicles including possession of valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
Essential Functions
  • Understands the individuals’ rights and display respect and dignity when interacting with the individuals
  • Ensures the safety and well-being of individuals and implements plan of cares
  • Understand the departmental policy on the correct way to report any suspected form of abuse which may be observed and/or reported
  • Serves as member of the individual’s plan of care team
  • Provides physical assistance
  • Provide residential training to facilitate the acquisition of each person’s chosen outcomes
  • Assists with daily living such as: walking, getting dressed, personal hygiene, eating, using the toilet, bathing, meal planning and preparation, laundry, budgeting and financial assistance, home care and cleaning
