Job SummaryThe Surveillance Manager plays a key leadership role in creating a safe, secure, and exciting gaming environment. Working closely with the Director of Security Surveillance, this position helps oversee the daily operations of the Surveillance Department while ensuring compliance with all gaming regulations and internal controls. Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Partner with the Director of Security and Surveillance to manage the overall operations of the Surveillance Department.
- Assist in developing and managing the department budget while ensuring effective use of resources.
- Support the design, installation, and ongoing operation of CCTV and alarm systems.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing surveillance team, including interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating staff.
- Promote a strong safety culture by managing programs that reduce and control lost‑time injuries.
- Implement procedures that protect gaming assets and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
- Help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.
- Ensure staffing levels meet operational needs, budget guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Delegate responsibilities and empower team members to succeed.
- Regularly review surveillance activities with the Director of Surveillance and General Manager.
- Collaborate with department directors and managers to support overall property operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
Skills and Abilities
- Proven leadership and management skills in surveillance, security, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of surveillance technology, internal controls, and gaming regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Clear and effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to take ownership of departmental performance and lead by example.
- High integrity, sound judgment, and strong attention to detail.
- Four to six (4–6) years of gaming industry experience in surveillance or security within a high‑volume environment.
- A four‑year degree in a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Racing License or be able to obtain one as required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age to work in this position.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent use of hands and arms to operate equipment and surveillance systems.
- Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Ability to clearly communicate and actively observe surroundings.
- Work environment includes moderate to loud noise levels.
- Requires circulation throughout all assigned areas, including smoking areas, while actively observing guests, team members, and gaming activity.
