We are currently looking for an Engineer I/II/III/Sr Technician for our Owensboro, KY office.

Position Description

We are seeking a Reliability Engineer to join our Asset Reliability Team and lead the development of global, strategic reliability practices across Boardwalk’s operations. This role is not about day‑to‑day troubleshooting as much as it’s about shaping the future of asset performance through proactive reliability strategies, continuous improvement, and industry‑leading best practices. You will focus on global defect elimination, asset management optimization, and risk mitigation, ensuring our mid‑stream natural gas infrastructure operates safely, efficiently, and reliably for years to come.

As

a Reliability Engineer, You Will
  • Drive long‑term reliability strategies that prevent failures before they occur.
  • Influence enterprise‑wide standards for asset management and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Project Execution, and Asset Performance & Innovation teams to embed reliability into every aspect of our business.
  • Develop and implement strategic reliability programs and best practices.
  • Lead initiatives in:
    • Defect elimination
    • Reliability‑Centered Maintenance (RCM)
    • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
    • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
  • Conduct facility and asset criticality analysis and optimize maintenance strategies.
  • Analyzes equipment history and failure data to identify bad actors and threats, supporting data‑driven decisions for reliability improvements.
  • Assess risks, develop mitigation plans, and champion continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical and reliability training to Operations and other support groups.
  • Perform spare parts analysis and recommendation.
  • Establish maintenance practices for new assets.
Required Skills, Knowledge, And Experience
  • Experience with traditional reliability engineering/risk management
  • Experience with Maximo or other CMMS/EAM
  • Strong commitment to working safely
  • Strong leadership, organizational, problem solving and communication skills
  • Self‑motivated, demonstrates creativity, and consistently takes initiative to drive results
  • Customer focus
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, And Experience
  • 3+ years experience in practicing Reliability Engineering.
  • Proficiency in probability and statistics for reliability
  • Proficiency in vibration analysis, lubrication analysis, motor circuit analysis, infrared thermography, failure mode and effects analysis, and ultrasonic measurement
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI
  • Experience with Python
Required Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
