Senior Site/Civil Design Engineer – Full‑Time. STV is seeking a Senior Site/Civil Engineer in Civil/Industrial Site Design to work in Kentucky (Lexington, Louisville, Owensboro, Glasgow offices).
Positions involve client coordination and technical skills to facilitate projects from notice to final closeout, including plan development, scheduling, cost estimating, specifications, and related administrative duties. Duties also include supervision and guidance on overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.
Responsibilities and Duties- Responsible for the successful completion of assigned engineering projects, applying intensive knowledge of engineering principles and practices to Civil Site Design and Industrial Site Design projects.
- Make independent decisions on engineering problems and methods, represent the company in client meetings and coordination conferences, and resolve questions and coordinate work.
- Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct the completion of assigned projects; establish and maintain primary contact with clients; prepare schedules to ensure on‑time and within‑budget delivery.
- Determine technical and staffing needs; hire, train, manage, and motivate personnel.
- Establish and maintain quality and accuracy standards; review and approve plans; obtain improvement plan and permit approvals from governing entities.
- Take an active role in new business development; help with project scope and technical write‑ups for proposals.
- Oversee invoicing and collection of payments; review and approve invoices; collect outstanding receivables for jobs.
- Supervise Engineers and Technicians; work cooperatively with other managers and employees to achieve company mission.
- BS in Civil Engineering.
- PE licensure in Kentucky.
- 8+ years of related experience.
- Proficiency in oral and written communications.
- Work primarily a professional office position but may assist in fieldwork; physical requirements include working outside in all weather, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and walking certain distances.
- Experience with Micro Station and/or AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with Open Site, Site Opps, or Civil3D.
