Owensboro Catholic Schools is seeking applicants for a full-time Language Arts teacher  ideal candidate would be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church who has a Language Arts Education degree and has a passion for teaching adolescents.

• Provide daily Language Arts instruction for students in grades 7 and 8
• Use best practices to provide effective instruction and positive, consistent classroom management.
• Communicate with students, parents, and other stakeholders in a professional and positive manner
• Function as a cooperative, productive team member at OCMS
• Support and uphold the philosophy and mission of the Catholic Church and the Owensboro Catholic School System
• Chair/Co-chair an extra-curricular club or student organization

• Have a passion for teaching adolescents
• Language Arts Education degree or teaching experience with the ability to pass the middle school Language Arts subject exam
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Must be self-motivated and self-directed with precise attention to detail
• Goal-oriented, organized team player with a positive attitude
• Practicing Catholic preferred, but not required
• The successful candidate must pass a criminal background check and complete safe environment training for the Diocese of Owensboro before employment can be granted
