All About General Merchandise
Experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas of the store. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and maintenance and pricing processes for all areas of the store.

Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by supporting pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

Role Summary
The General Merchandise Expert supports guest service, inventory management, pricing, and merchandise presentation to meet business priorities and sales goals.

• Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest-first culture across the store
• Experience in retail fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement
• Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks
• Engage with guests who need assistance to solve their specific needs
• Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target
• Execute daily tasks assigned by leadership to achieve goals aligned with business priorities, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas
• Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures if certified
• Execute processes such as price changes, merchandise setup and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed
• Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability
• Be knowledgeable about store resources, products, and services to solve guest issues and improve their experience
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance; work safely and report hazards
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (picking/packing orders, delivering pickup orders) while complying with relevant laws
• All other duties based on business needs

• You can work a flexible schedule (including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times)
• Required Skills: welcoming attitude, ability to operate handheld scanners and technology, work independently and with a team, resolve guest questions quickly, attention to detail, multi-tasking under time frames
• Physical ability to climb ladders, lift up to 44 pounds, and move merchandise safely
• Willingness to work in varying temperatures and environments
