Quanex is looking for a Shipping & Receiving Clerk - 1st shift to join our team located in Owatonna, Minnesota
.
The hours for this position are Monday - Friday; 7am - 3:30pm.
This role ensures timely and accurate documentation, compliance with safety standards, and coordination with internal teams to support production and distribution.

- Unload deliveries and verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect incoming materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies: report issues promptly.
- Record received items into SAP.
- Tag and label materials for identification and traceability.
- Deliver packages and mail throughout the plant.
- Prepare and package finished goods or components for shipment according to customer specifications and company standards.
- Generate shipping documents (bills of lading, packing lists, labels) and ensure accuracy
- Schedule and coordinate outbound shipments with carriers and logistics partners.
- Verify outgoing orders against sales orders and ensure proper documentation.
- High school diploma or equivalent education required
- 1-2 years of experience in receiving, shipping, or logistics, supply chain training or warehouse operations (manufacturing experience a plus) preferred
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP systems
- Demonstrates excellence in verbal and written skills
The starting pay rate for this position is $25 per hour.
