Senior Automotive Technician

Compensation: $120,000 / yr - $150,000 / yr
, varying depending on experience & qualifications.

• Diagnose vehicles according to appropriate level of certifications/experience.
• Perform work as outlined on the Multi‑point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Perform complex and heavy‑duty repairs.
• Explain technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non‑mechanical individuals, including store manager, service consultants and customers.
• Recommend services necessary to keep the customer's vehicle in running condition; properly document all recommendations in the customer file.
• Follow all safety procedures and report concerns to direct supervisor.
• Adhere to Sun Auto's core values, company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Work flexible schedules, Monday – Friday.

• Previous automotive technician/mecanic experience required.
• ASE certifications in lieu of experience.
• Ability to demonstrate proper use of computerized equipment for diagnostics.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical school experience preferred.

The Senior Automotive Technician will be exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non‑hazardous materials. Temperature may vary between extreme heat and cold.

• Stand up to eight hours per day and walk to gain access to various areas of the shop.
• Bend, stoop, kneel and crouch regularly; must have full range of motion with arms and hands and handle objects frequently.
• Lift/move up to 10 lbs regularly, lift/move up to 70 lbs frequently.
• Communicate with customers and shop personnel.
• Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re‑focus.
