Responsibilities- Interact with Government and Commercial Marketing groups, System Planner, System Controllers, and Flight Dispatchers to provide flight plans, routings, and overflight for proposed trips.
- Analyze historical data to assure production of a safe and cost-effective schedule.
- Review flight plan requests from Marketing and System Planning.
- Research airfield suitability such as runway length, width, pavement strength, special airports, fire and rescue capabilities.
- Review OPS program for performance at airport selected.
- Input estimates for winds, temperature, and altimeter settings into OPS program.
- Review Jeppesen Jet Planner program to run flight plan information based on performance numbers from OPS.
- Identify which countries cannot be overflown and input into the flight planning process.
- Utilize the FPR (Flight Plan Request) system to analyze safety of all potential flights to be operated.
- During planning, review and discuss with the Director of Operations, Director of Safety, Director of Operations Planning & Flight Dispatch, Fleet Managers, and Manager of Crew Scheduling items such as crew safety, crew flow/change, aircraft and airport security, Flight crew restrictions, and other operational items.
- Update OPS computer software for performance, weight, balance, and airport database.
- Monitor FMS aircraft database.
- Obtain permits required for each country Omni is scheduled to overfly and maintain validity of permits.
- Assist Planning by coordinating and scheduling all customer requirements in AIMS and evaluate aircraft and schedule all customer requirements in AIMS.
- Relay information and coordinate via email, phone, Instant Message, or by updating aircraft information through Airline Information Management System (AIMS).
- Implement required changes, coordinating and advising senior personnel as necessary.
- Analyze requirements with potential impact on flights and relay information to operating departments, supporting agencies, marketing, department managers, and senior leadership as appropriate.
- Work with Director of Operations Planning & Flight Dispatch, Manager of Operations Planning, System Controllers, and Dispatchers during daily operations to include irregular operations.
- Obtain Dispatch input to plan minimal effects of long-term aircraft schedule.
- Conduct necessary coordination and contingency planning in response to delays, changes, cancellations, or redirection from higher Company authority.
- Review and recommend the most efficient options to optimize system resources in meeting customer requirements.
- Routinely discuss and address planning work methods, problems, and answer operational questions.
- Provide daily planning input at senior management briefings as required.
- Examine and recommend changes to improve quality and efficiency of daily operational plan and execution of the daily schedule plan.
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word.
- Must be able to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Possess good organizational ability.
- Ability to multi-task and think quickly and efficiently.
- Must be trusted with confidential information.
- Ability to work under extreme pressure, meet tight deadlines, while maintaining detail and accuracy.
- Possess good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Must be able to pass a 10-year Background/Criminal check and pre-employment drug screen.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience with Jeppesen's Jet Planner and eLink preferred.
- FAA Dispatch license preferred, but not required.
- Pilot experience preferred, but not required.

- Capable of interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
