Park Attendant - Golf

The West Vancouver Parks Department is now accepting applications for a Temporary Full-Time Park Attendant, stationed at Gleneagles Golf Course. This position performs a variety of tasks required for golf grounds maintenance. These include mowing, line trimming, sand trap maintenance, turf repair, waste collection, operation ride on equipment and various other course service activities.

The work for this position is considered manual work, requiring effort and stamina. The successful candidate may also be required to assist staff with park construction; sports fields and grass areas; horticulture; and other related duties, as operationally required.

• Detailed knowledge concerning safe use of landscape maintenance equipment specific to turf and golf course operations;
• Detailed knowledge of agronomic practices for golf courses;
• Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to permit the performance of manual outdoor work in all types of weather;
• An interest in Parks and Golf operations and a desire to learn;
• Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver’s License for the Province of BC;
• Experience working in turf and golf grounds maintenance would be considered an asset.

These positions are expected to be required into the early fall. Candidates must be available for the duration of this period. The length of these assignments will be dependent upon operational requirements.

Union (WVMEA) – Temporary, Full-time

Hours of Work:

40 hours per week: hours and days of work may vary and may include weekends. (Shifts start between 5:30 and 6:30 am.)

Starting Rate of Pay:

$30.88 per hour (2025 rate) plus 14% in lieu of benefits

This position has a pay structure with three steps increase after certain hours.
