• Set up and operate various respiratory equipment for diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease.
• Administer respiratory‑specific gases, medications, and modes of therapy for the respiratory‑compromised patient.
• Respond to emergencies throughout the hospital.
• Advise on arterial blood gas results.
• Assist in the transport of mechanically ventilated patients.
• May assist in ordering department supplies.
• Takes and records verbal and telephone orders from physicians.
• Acts as a resource for nurses, physicians, residents, interns, respiratory staff, students, and other hospital staff regarding initiation and operation of respiratory procedures.
• May assume a charge role in the absence of the Respiratory Supervisor.
• Participates in departmental in‑service/education programs.
• Participates in quality assurance programs and in department/ BMC committees.
• Work schedule includes alternate weekends and holidays.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience.
• Oklahoma CRT license (upon hire). RRT license for Registered Respiratory Therapist only (upon hire).
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS (within 30 days of hire).
• NRP (within 60 days of hire).

Alternate weekends and holidays.
