The Transportation Operations Specialist serves as a key operational component within the brokerage team. This role is responsible for the execution of complex truckload shipments, manages escalations, and supports both carrier and customer relationships. The position requires strong strategic thinking, problem‑solving, and the ability to influence operational outcomes across multiple stakeholders.

• Serve as the subject matter expert for truckload operations processes, systems, and best practices.
• Assist leadership in refining SOPs, workflows, and efficiency improvements.
• Manage multi‑stop, specialized equipment, and time‑critical loads.
• Optimize routing, scheduling, and carrier selection for service and cost efficiency.
• Monitor KPIs for on‑time pickup/delivery, accessorial control, and exception handling.
• Develop and maintain high‑quality carrier partnerships.
• Support capacity planning and carrier allocation for volume surges.
• Negotiate competitive rates while balancing service, compliance, and margin goals.
• Evaluate carrier performance and provide recommendations for preferred status.
• Provide proactive updates, performance reporting, and root‑cause analysis for service failures.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of TMS data, billing documents, and carrier compliance files.
• Leverage reporting tools to identify trends and recommend operational adjustments.
• Other responsibilities as requested by supervisor.

• 3–5+ years of experience in truckload brokerage, logistics operations, or transportation management.
• Strong understanding of FTL market dynamics, carrier networks, and transportation regulations.
• Proven ability to handle complex loads, escalations, and customer‑facing issues.
• High proficiency with TMS platforms, load boards, and operational workflows.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities.
