Summary - HVAC Shop Technician:
Responsible for the safe and effective operation of shop equipment, primarily focusing on fabricating sheet metal and preparing materials for HVAC systems. This role involves general shop duties typical of a commercial HVAC contractor's workshop environment.
Perks/Incentives:
- $20/hour starting wage (once eligible to enroll in apprenticeship program pay will increase to $23/hour with earning potential up to $32.50/hour after the 4-year apprenticeship program is completed)
- $150 sign‑on bonus
- $150 monthly incentive during the 6 months you will be employed through JARBO ($900 total incentive potential)

- Weekly pay during time employed through JARBO
- Fabricate, assemble, and prepare sheet metal and other materials used in HVAC systems.
- Operate various HVAC shop machinery, such as shears, brakes, and presses, to cut, bend, and shape sheet metal.
- Assist in the production and pre‑assembly of HVAC components, such as ductwork, louvers, and fittings.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shop environment.
- Load and unload materials from deliveries, storing them appropriately within the shop.
- Transport materials and tools from the shop to job sites when necessary and ensure proper accounting of tools.
- Inspect tools and equipment to ensure safe and proper function.
Dispose of all shop waste, scrap, and debris in accordance with company policies. - Follow all company and safety regulations and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Support field and on‑site installation efforts as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Preferred experience in metal fabrication or HVAC systems.
- Experience in operating hand and power tools, especially shop equipment used for metalworking.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds.
