Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an inpatient rehab position on a night shift, requiring a KS or compact RN license and recent acute rehab experience.
Responsibilities- Work in a 30-bed acute med surg rehab unit within a hospital setting
- Average daily census is 24-30 patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 for all shifts
- Night shift schedule of 3x12 hour shifts, 19:00 - 07:30
- Telemonitoring, central line care, blood transfusions, and acute rehab procedures performed
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and possibly facilities
- Requires at least 8 weekend shifts per 6-week period
- Holiday coverage required if scheduled
- Patient care includes blood glucose monitoring, insulin protocol administration, central line and PICC line care, Foley catheter removal, and fall/infection prevention practices
- Responsibilities include administration of blood products, managing thickened liquids, and pulse oximetry monitoring
- Lift equipment is available to assist with patient handling
- Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
- First-time travelers are accepted for this role
- Holiday and weekend shift coverage required as scheduled
- No more than 7 days of requested time off permitted during contract
- Pre-employment drug screening required with strict results criteria
- No travel partners accepted for this assignment
- Active KS or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years of recent specialty experience in acute rehab with at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months, and no employment gap greater than 90 days in the last year
- Current BLS certification required
- Experience with telemetry monitoring, IV management, blood glucose protocols, central line care, and infection prevention measures
- Submission of 2 professional references, at least one from a supervisor within the past year
- No pending state licenses accepted
- Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
