Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an inpatient rehab unit with night shifts and floating between service lines required.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute inpatient rehab unit within a hospital setting

• Care for a patient population averaging 52 daily, in a 60-bed unit

• Patient ratio is 1:6 for all shifts

• Typical cases include hypertension, post-cardiac surgery, chronic renal failure, neuromuscular disease, spinal cord injury, stroke, traumatic brain injury, and post-craniotomy

• Uses Epic charting system;
Epic experience required

• Night shifts (3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15)

• Four weekend shifts are required per scheduled period

• Floating within the service line and to all med-surg/rehab units is required

• Holiday coverage required if scheduled

• No on-call requirement

• Responsibilities include care and management of complex rehab patients and administration of specialized therapies and equipment

• Team-oriented work environment with regular floating between related units and departments required

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Seven days maximum for approved time off (RTO)

• Drug screening is required, and any non-clearable results will result in cancellation with a six-month waiting period for reapplication

• Modules and compliance training are required before start and annually

• Navy blue scrubs are required for RNs

• No travel partners are accepted

Requirements

• Active Kansas, Missouri, or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration

• Current BLS certification required

• Minimum two years of recent specialty experience in acute inpatient rehab, with at least one year in the specialty within the last 12 months and no employment gap greater than 90 days

• Epic experience required

• Proficiency in skills such as blood glucose monitoring, insulin protocols, post-cardiac surgery care, feeding tube care, wound care, IV starts, ventilator care, tracheostomy care, and pain and infection management

• Must provide two professional references from the past year, including one supervisor-level reference

• Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility; locals not accepted

• No pending state licenses accepted; all licensure must be current and active at submission
