Under the general direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, provides nursing leadership for assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care of assigned area(s) with twenty‑four (24) hour accountability.
Collaborates with physicians and other departments to meet patient and family needs.
Manages resources in a fiscally responsible manner.
Supports the hospital mission in accordance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications- Education:
Graduation from school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. - Licensure/
Certifications:
Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license. - Certification in area of specialty preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills required.
- Ability to achieve and then maintain BCLS certification is required.
- Experience:
Two years clinical nursing experience required; preference for experience in area of specialty that will be managing. One year supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a 340+ bed facility offering acute medical services. It is the county’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II Trauma Center. The hospital features an Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center and a premier Maternal Fetal Health Center. We provide antepartum care, labor and delivery services, a Level III NICU, and dedicated pediatric emergency rooms.
