American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) telemetry position requiring a KS or compact license, BLS, and at least two years of recent specialty experience.

Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit
- Work in a hospital Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with 30 beds and an average census of 24-30 patients
- Care for a diverse adult patient population, including renal failure, pre/post hemodialysis, trauma, neuro, ortho, and critical respiratory support cases
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6 for all shifts
- Night shift position with 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Minimum of 8 weekend shifts required per 6‑week schedule period
- Frequent floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities
- EPIC is used for electronic charting
- CRRT experience preferred but not required
- Responsible for comprehensive patient assessment, medication administration, and management of acute and chronic conditions common to a PCU setting
- RNs must wear navy blue scrubs
- Additional training modules, including EMR (EPIC), infusion pump, and glucometer, must be completed prior to and during orientation
- Maximum of 7 days of requested time off permitted
- Must be able to work scheduled holidays that fall during assignment dates
- Drug screening and lab tests required prior to start; diluted or positive results not cleared by MRO will delay future eligibility
- Modules and orientation training are required prior to independent practice
- First‑time travelers are welcome to apply
- No travel partners accepted for this assignment
- Employment tenure policy requires at least 18 months with a 3-month break in service for rehire consideration
- Active KS or compact RN license in hand prior to consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience with at least 1 year in specialty within the past 12 months and no employment gap greater than 90 days
- Required skills include Rapid Response Team participation, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care, pre/post hemodialysis, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, starting IVs, stroke and neuro care, spinal cord and traumatic brain injury, ortho trauma, external CPAP/BIPAP, ABG interpretation, oxygen therapy, non‑invasive airway management, tracheostomy management, isolation precautions, and wound care/Vac use
- Must be willing to float as needed
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility to qualify for traveler status
- Two professional references from the past year required, including one supervisor-level or above
