Job Description Overview
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Nurse Manager (RN) to provide day-shift leadership for a high-acuity emergency services department in Overland Park, Kansas
.
This role is responsible for the daily clinical and operational management of the Emergency Department, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. The Nurse Manager partners closely with emergency services leadership to support quality outcomes, staff engagement, regulatory compliance, and operational performance.

Responsibilities Clinical & Operational Leadership- Oversee daily operations and staffing for the Emergency Department
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based emergency nursing care
- Monitor clinical outcomes, patient safety indicators, and throughput performance
- Ensure compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Lead, coach, and develop emergency nursing staff
- Support onboarding, competency validation, and performance management
- Promote staff engagement, accountability, and retention
- Participate in quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives
- Support patient experience and service excellence strategies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary leaders to meet departmental and organizational goals
- Assist with scheduling, productivity management, and staffing efficiency
- Support department initiatives aligned with emergency services strategy
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Kansas or compact eligible)
- 3+ years of recent acute care Emergency Department leadership experience
- Charge Nurse experience considered; manager-level experience strongly preferred
- Strong background in high-acuity emergency nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or actively pursuing (completion within 2 years)
- Prior experience in a trauma-capable or high-volume emergency department
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- ENPC or PALS
