The Senior Marketing Manager role is pivotal in driving strategic marketing initiatives that support Black & Veatch’s water-focused offerings for public agencies and utilities. This role involves marketing strategy and planning through content creation and supporting the opportunity lifecycle, including top‑funnel demand generation for new markets and 1:1 opportunity support.
The OpportunityThis non‑supervisory role serves as the primary marketing partner for assigned segments/solutions, implementing and managing enterprise marketing strategy at the segment and sub‑segment level, converting client‑facing segment strategies into marketing plans, and developing value propositions for client types to sell the full portfolio of solutions.
The TeamBlack & Veatch’s Enterprise Evolution consists of Enterprise Marketing & Communications, Enterprise Sales, Enterprise Strategy, Innovation, Mergers & Acquisitions, Sustainability, and other functions focused on identifying market opportunities and driving growth.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver enterprise marketing across assigned client segments to position the BV brand and sell the full portfolio of solutions, contributing to top and bottom‑line growth by generating qualified leads.
- Serve as the primary marketing partner for assigned segments/solutions.
- Implement and manage enterprise marketing strategy at the segment and sub‑segment level.
- Convert client‑facing segment strategies and plans into marketing plans to reach existing & new clients and markets.
- Develop and apply value propositions for client types to sell a full portfolio of solutions across existing and new clients.
- Design, build, and manage planned and ad‑hoc marketing campaigns for portfolio.
- Identify, evaluate, plan, and fulfill event, sponsorship, and advertising opportunities in coordination with external affairs.
- Ensure brand management during tactical execution of all client‑facing marketing efforts.
- Plan, schedule, manage, and promote content through social media channels aligned with external affairs/social media.
- Plan, manage, and develop thought‑leadership content for key campaign initiatives.
- Plan and actively manage budgets for events, associations, advertising, and creative production that support client and market goals.
- Plan, manage, analyze, and qualify lead‑generation results in conjunction with Demand Gen team.
- Support development of account management plans specific to the client type.
Individual Contributor
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of corporate and/or agency marketing experience.
- 5+ years of marketing experience in the water industry.
- Demonstrated ability to develop innovative and creative marketing campaigns.
- Understanding of an integrated marketing mix to support digital and traditional marketing efforts.
- Advanced knowledge of marketing principles and practices.
- Experience in demand generation and account‑based marketing.
- Ability to solve problems, manage marketing campaigns, develop strategies, and execute and measure the full lifecycle.
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, aligned with team strategy and goals to drive results.
- Experience with an integrated marketing approach to define and differentiate offerings to existing and new clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, or a related field; or equivalent experience. Master’s degree or relevant experience preferred.
- 9+ years of related experience.
