A leading Women’s & Children’s service line in the Overland Park region is seeking a Director of Women’s Services to oversee high-acuity maternal, fetal, and neonatal care programs. This role supports a comprehensive continuum of care including antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and Level III NICU services. With approximately 3,500 births annually
, this position requires a seasoned leader experienced in managing operations at scale within a large, complex women’s services program.
The Director serves as a key member of nursing leadership with 24/7 accountability for service delivery, strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and patient experience across assigned departments.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic and operational leadership for Women’s Services, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care across all maternal and neonatal units.
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, performance, competency, and engagement for assigned departments.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives aligned with clinical excellence, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.
- Manage budgets, resources, and service line performance within financial expectations.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and care standards to support consistent, evidence-based practice.
- Identify and develop qualified personnel, including hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation.
- Maintain effective communication with leadership and frontline teams, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professional development, and service excellence.
- Minimum 5 years of recent Women’s Services leadership as a manager or director in a large hospital environment.
- Experience overseeing 3,500+ annual births in a high-acuity maternal care setting.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Active RN license (Kansas or Compact).
- Ability to obtain and maintain BLS certification.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
- BSN or higher degree in Nursing.
- Certification in a Women’s Services specialty (e.g., RNC-OB, C-EFM, NE-BC).
- Competitive hourly salary: $48.04–$72.05/hour
