Lockton Affinity, located in Overland Park, KS is searching for a Senior Director of Operations. The Senior Director of Operations is responsible for driving organizational efficiency, strengthening operational performance, and supporting the strategic growth of the Sponsored & Direct business. This role oversees day-to-day operational functions, ensures compliance and governance standards are met, and partners with internal teams to enhance the quality and consistency of program delivery.
The ideal candidate brings strong insurance industry knowledge, analytical capabilities, and the ability to influence culture, process, and results across the organization.
- Apply strong insurance knowledge and experience to support program operations, optimize workflows, and overall business decision-making.
- Oversee program life cycles — onboarding new programs, transitioning and migrating existing programs, and ensuring seamless operational continuity.
- Coordinate with carriers and internal stakeholders to prepare for audits, reporting, and operational reviews.
- Lead system and data analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Drive operational efficiency initiatives, streamline processes, and implement best practices across Sponsored & Direct department.
- Partner with Finance and key stakeholders to evaluate cost of business analyses and ensure they align with our strategic objectives.
- Oversee corporate governance, ensuring team compliance with policies and organizational standards.
- Contribute to and support the organization’s strategic vision, ensuring operations align with long-term goals.
- Identify and recommend training opportunities to enhance team capabilities and improve performance.
- Serve as a culture champion by modeling company values and encouraging collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
- Collaborate with HR and Talent Acquisition to recruit, staff, and build a strong operational team for Sponsored and Direct programs.
- Support performance management, including compensation and bonus planning in partnership with leadership and HR.
- Oversee client contract review, execution, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and industry standards.
- Participate in business development support as needed, assisting with onboarding and partner communications.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, or related field.
- 7–15+ years of insurance, program administration, or operational leadership experience.
- Strong analytical skills, including proficiency with systems, reporting platforms, and data interpretation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects and drive organizational efficiency.
- Excellent communication, leadership, resourcefulness, strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
