Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?Under direct supervision, this position has responsibility for inspecting, estimating, negotiating, and evaluating 1st and 3rd party auto physical damage claims, including both personal and business insurance claims. The claim types will be basic to moderate physical damage coverages as it relates to damage assessment. This includes collision, comprehensive, property damage related to autos, rental and towing as well as fire, theft, flood, lightning, diminished value claims and any claims that involve injuries.
The actual resolution and settlement of these claims will be the responsibility of the Auto Claim Professional. This position will serve as a technical resource for auto claim staff and will provide advice and direction to claim professionals on claim damages to achieve optimal outcomes. This job does not lead others.
This position is based 100% remotely and may include a combination of mobile work and/or work from your primary residence.
Location Requirement: This position services Insureds/Agents in the Wichita, KS area. The selected candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate at their own expense to the assigned territory. Ideal locations include:
Wichita, KS and surrounding areas.
- Delivers consistent service quality throughout the claim life cycle, including prompt contact, explaining the process, setting expectations, ongoing effective communication, and follow-through to achieve optimal outcomes on every file.
- Effectively manages work assignments and promptly travels to the location of the vehicle/equipment. Arranges to view vehicle/equipment if not readily accessible.
- Scopes claims using technical expertise to determine physical claim value with company resources, estimating and evaluation software.
- Establishes the physical damage claim value of assigned losses and prepares accurate appraisals and values.
- Partners with the assigned Claim Professional throughout the life of the claim to ensure appropriate resolution and pursue subrogation or other recovery sources as applicable.
- Negotiates the claim with the customer and/or repair facilities to achieve agreement on value and required payments.
- Determines settlements for applicable Total Loss claims and conveys settlements within authority, including rental reimbursement.
- Provides inspection assistance to other lines of business as needed, including Catastrophe response.
- Reviews coverage and applies policy conditions, provisions, exclusions, and endorsements relevant to auto damage claims.
- Manages the repair process, reserves claim and expense appropriately, and maintains a plan of action to bring repairs to timely resolution.
- Communicates claim damage assessment after negotiation of value with repair facilities and obtains authorization to initiate payment.
- Acquisition and maintenance of Insurance Licenses may be required to comply with state and Travelers requirements; licenses should be obtained within three months of starting and continued CE credits pursued as mandated.
- Participation in the Catastrophe Response Program may require deployment away from home for a minimum of 16 days (includes 2 travel days).
