Job Description

Organizes and prioritizes workflow to meet established turnaround times. Transmits patient reports and test results to physician offices via fax and phone. Ensures patient records are complete and accurate, monitoring required documentation as specified in the laboratory compliance plan. Monitors faxing function and troubleshoots remote printers, correcting malfunctions or arranging for service as needed. Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies to service clients and monitors their distribution.

Uses LIS efficiently to register patients, retrieve test results, and obtain information, following established protocols. Follows established safety and biohazard protocols. Assists in the development of section policies and procedures. Enhances technical and professional knowledge by participating in mandatory and continuing education opportunities. Assists staff, pathologists, and leadership on projects as requested. Communicates professionally with physicians, office staff, patients, and other customers, providing appropriate follow-up and resolution.

Utilizes critical thinking to recognize and resolve problems, documents corrective actions, and communicates to the team. Other duties as assigned.
