Job Description Summary
Responsible for providing financial planning, analysis and reporting for Union Fidelity Corporation a subsidiary of Employers Reassurance Corporation, a heritage GE Company. Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may influence work.
Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing the business cycle-multi-year plan, budget, forecasts across various insurance product lines including long-term care, structured settlements, and variable annuities. Define and monitor KPIs to measure the performance across the business. Analyze the performance, investigate variances, and report out for internal management purposes to include functional rollup of results.
- Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise with accounting, financial reporting and/or FP&A.
- May be asked to lead functional projects within the business as necessary. Ability to communicate difficult concepts and may influence others' opinions on particular topics.
- Impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives. Regularly advises management in the function and/or in the business. Has a supportive role in decision making about important subjects. High levels of evaluative judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.
- Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems that impact the function. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
- Finance or Accounting degree from an accredited university or college
- 6 + years of Accounting Finance Experience
- Experience in accounting/financial reporting/FP&A needed
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Adaptability, ability to execute during tight quarter end reporting deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems, working with cross functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, and execute programs.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint proficiency, with exposure to Lean, Copilot, Hyperion and Power
BI a benefit. - Insurance industry knowledge also highly beneficial.
