Environmental Engineer IV / Project Manager II position to support our work in the Overland Park, Kansas office. The Senior Engineer component provides environmental engineering, remediation, and construction services to federal and state clients. Project Manager II responsibilities include management of large-scale, multi-year projects for government clients. This role will work on-site in Overland Park, KS.
Responsibilities/Duties- Design, manage, and conduct environmental field investigations and remediation projects at hazardous waste sites, both in the Overland Park area and nationwide.
- Supervise and support environmental and engineering projects and tasks, including characterization through remediation of impacted soil, sediment, and groundwater. Construction duties may include oversight of civil and environmental aspects related to remediation projects or the construction of soil and groundwater remedial/treatment systems.
- Data analysis and interpretation of field and analytical data.
- Review and author technical reports, specifically Feasibility Studies, Remedial Designs, and Remedial Action Work Plans.
- Manage technical and administrative aspects of CERCLA RI/FS, RD/RA, remedial construction, operations and maintenance (O&M), and/or long-term monitoring (LTM) or RCRA equivalent phases of environmental restoration projects.
- Manage and meet project scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Direct, manage, and lead project teams to meet project objectives in line with corporate and customer quality expectations.
- Communicate effectively with clients, regulators, project team members, field crews, subcontractors, and company management.
- Manage project risks and develop mitigation approaches and strategies.
- Support business development efforts, including leading or supporting proposal efforts and preparing cost estimates.
- Manage a team of 3-5 including mentoring, supervising, and developing staff.
- PE license and a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering such as Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Geological Engineering.
- Experience with development of Remedial Design packages, including Basis of Design reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Minimum 10 years of experience executing and managing investigation and remediation projects under CERCLA and RCRA, including oversight of project teams, budget, schedule, safety, quality, technical performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Strong project management, organizational, cost tracking, technical writing, and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of methodologies for groundwater, surface water, soil, and sediment sampling at CERCLA and RCRA sites.
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Competency with MS Office including MS Project.
- Demonstrated skills in the design and implementation of remediation/construction projects.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize to ensure timely and accurate work.
- Ability to build consensus among leadership, internal, and external stakeholders through effective interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with remedial technologies and approaches.
- Master of Science degree in a related field.
- Remedial construction-related experience.
- Experience with engineering software and tools used in the development of Feasibility Studies and Remedial Design.

The salary range for this position ranges from $91,568 - $141,930. This position's final salary can be impacted by various factors including contractual requirements, geographic location, job-related education, training, experience, and skills.
