The OpportunityBlack & Veatch has an exciting opportunity for a Risk & Resilience Analyst focused on supporting hazard mitigation, disaster preparedness and recovery, climate adaptation, and community resilience throughout the US. This professional will be part of the growing Black & Veatch Planning Solution focused on Communities & Ecosystems. Their role will be to provide technical excellence to deliver resilience-related projects with opportunities to engage with clients and support business development.
With a focus on developing Black & Veatch’s presence in the resilience market, this professional will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to support projects related to climate adaptation/mitigation, vulnerability assessments, hazard mitigation planning, coastal and sea level rise strategies, and resilient infrastructure system solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Support hazard vulnerability and risk assessment analysis for hazard mitigation, resilience and disaster recovery plans.
- Lead and support innovative data analysis and communication via Storymaps, dashboards, website integration for stakeholder communication and outreach.
- Support and coordinate risk assessment, hazard mitigation and disaster recovery planning.
- Support client and stakeholder workshops.
- Provide task leadership to deliver Resilience Planning solutions/studies/projects.
- Support engagement with new and existing clients to develop new business.
- 4+ years of GIS analysis and data visualization experience.
- Experience related to hazard mitigation, resilience, disaster preparedness & recovery, coastal and sea level rise impacts.
- Experience with Federal approaches and tools to assess risks and provide hazard mitigation (i.e. FEMA HAZUS) climate adaptation, disaster recovery, and resilience strategic planning and implementation.
Bachelor degree in engineering or professional degree in Sciences in area of expertise preferred with specialized training, or experience that uniquely qualifies the individual to perform the job responsibilities.
A minimum total of 1 year of related work experience. Graduate work may count as related work experience if directly applicable to job function.

Work Environment and Schedule- Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
