As a Staff Structural – Data Center Substation Engineer
, you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead structural design engineering and analysis on substation scopes, specifically for data center clients on EPC projects.
• Collect and assimilate data for engineering work. Perform research and prepare calculations in accordance with Black & Veatch and industry standards.
• Develop recommendations for equipment and materials. Understand and work within budget, project schedule, and quality requirements.
• Assist with providing guidance to engineering team members. Maintain positive client relations and effective communication with the project team. May assist with business development activities.
• Function as a technical specialist and/or in a lead role. Apply advanced engineering techniques and analyses with minimal supervision. Expand knowledge and skill set in the discipline and potentially in other areas.

We provide complete engineering, procurement, and construction services in the following areas:

• Substations

• Develop knowledge and provide guidance on design guides, standards, and applicable engineering codes; offer technical guidance to project teams.
• Apply knowledge independently and ensure adherence to the Black & Veatch quality program. Support continuous improvement and change management.
• Prepare complex engineering deliverables for multi-project assignments. Conduct research and recommend equipment/materials. Manage data collection and complex calculations; manage budget, schedule, and quality; delegate tasks to develop team depth; review work; coordinate multiple disciplines.
• Coordinate with internal/external team members on moderately complex projects.
• Identify client interests and drivers; communicate them to the project team and support business development or pursuit activities.
• Act as a technical specialist, mentor others, and contribute to knowledge management. Apply advanced engineering concepts to unique problems.

Additional notes:
May assist with resource management strategy and administrative responsibilities such as policy implementation, adherence to programs, and approval of timesheets and expenses.

• Active PE License
• Strong written communications and collaboration skills; ability to drive results, plan, delegate, and lead teams
