Preschool​/Pre-K Assistant Teacher

• Preschool/Pre-K Assistant Teachers are responsible for direct interaction with the children in games, activities and free play, along with ensuring the general health, welfare and well-being of each child. Be active participants with the children enrolled, and effective communicators with parents, children, supervisors and co-workers.
• Exhibit initiative by demonstrating leadership without being prompted by other staff while accepting supervision from the Program Director.
• Assisting in lunch/snack preparations.
• Daily cleaning of classroom and materials.
• Additional duties assigned by the Program Director.
• Enroll and attend 16 hours of off-site in-service annually. Learn and observe all JCPRD guidelines, policies, and procedures.

• Hours: 15-30 hours per week; shifts are flexible between 7:00 a.m.
  
  - 6:00 p.m.
• Salary: $14.00 per hour

Locations:
Roeland Park Community Center and various elementary schools in the Shawnee Mission School District.

Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing. Scheduling and shift assignments and work location may be changed at any time, as required by business necessity.

• Minimum age of 16.
• Some experience with children preferred.
• Must meet criteria stated by Kansas Department of Health and Environment and obtain 16 annual clock hours of training.

JCPRD requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department.
