- Responsible for supervision and safety of children
- Prepare materials required to implement daily activities
- Ensure the general health, welfare, and well-being of each child
- Assist in lunch preparations and snacks
- Daily cleaning of classroom and materials
- Exhibit initiative by demonstrating leadership without being prompted
- Be an active participant in activities with the children
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, supervisors, and co-workers, providing excellent customer service.
- Enroll and attend 16 hours of off-site in-service annually. Learn and observe all JCPRD guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Salary: $16.00 per hour.
- Hours: 15-30 hours per week; flexible schedules vary throughout the day from 7a-6p

Locations:
Roeland Park Community Center and various elementary schools in the Shawnee Mission School District.
Job Requirements:
- 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent AND one of the following:
- Associate degree or higher degree in early childhood, child development, or a related academic discipline from a regionally accredited college/university or
- Technical certificate or diploma in early childhood or
- Child Development Associate Credential or
- 3 semester hours of academic study in early childhood, child development, or a related academic discipline & three months of experience in early childhood education providing direct care and supervision to children 3-5 years old or
- 6 months of experience in early childhood education providing direct supervision to children 3-5 years old
Additional Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices.
- Self-motivation and ability to prioritize personal responsibilities and accomplish job tasks with autonomy from close supervision.
- Shows a knowledge and love of working with children.
