The person in this position is a member of the Corporate Accounts Payable Team. This role will be primarily responsible for processing vendor payments, as well as working with Treasury and Accounting on posting/reconciling bank statements. This role will also provide assistance with invoice processing for remote sites with Compass Minerals. Additionally, this role will assist with corporate accounts payable functions, including answering internal and external questions and ensuring the service level agreement for Accounts Payable activities have been met.
EssentialJob Functions

- Process vendor payment run, including ad hoc payments, ensuring that payments are completed through all systems timely and accurately.
- Work with vendors and internal teams to convert vendors to electronic payments.
- Ensure all vendor payment runs comply with internal controls and approval requirements.
- Validate approval authority and process all vouchers and invoices for payment within the specified time frame, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Knowledge of processing PO based invoices and following up on outstanding receipts and approvals.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to resolve payment and processing issues, providing analytical support to identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Process new vendor setup requests and modification requests, ensuring accuracy and completeness of vendor data.
- Act as audit support, preparing detailed reports and analyses to assist with internal and external audits, and participate in special projects as necessary.
- Perform other related duties as required, leveraging analytical skills to improve processes and support decision-making.
- Working vendor inquiries mailbox, ensuring internal and external questions related to Accounts Payable are addressed timely and accurately.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 years related payables experience in a corporate environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Multi-currency experience a plus (USD & CAD).
- Attention to detail
- High volume invoice processing, matching invoices to Purchase Orders
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high level of customer service
- Coupa accounts payables system experience preferred
- Customer Service experience is preferred
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
