Accounting Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Overland Park, Kansas. This is a Contract to permanent opportunity within the construction industry, offering a chance to grow in a dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Quick Books and accounting processes while being eager to learn and take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities:

- Manage daily accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

- Process and match invoices with purchase orders, maintaining organized financial records.

- Perform high-volume data entry tasks with precision and efficiency.

- Utilize Quick Books to track transactions and update financial information.

- Assist with creating and managing purchase orders; training will be provided if needed.

- Collaborate with team members to support reconciliation processes as responsibilities grow.

- Maintain an organized workspace while adhering to business casual dress codes.

- Communicate effectively with vendors, clients, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies.

- Support additional accounting tasks as assigned to facilitate smooth operations. Requirements - Proficiency in Quick Books software for accounting and financial management.

- Strong understanding of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

- Ability to handle extensive data entry tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.

- Familiarity with purchase order processing; willingness to learn if less experienced.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.

- Effective communication skills for interacting with vendors and team members.

- A proactive attitude with a willingness to take on additional responsibilities and grow within the role.

- Prior experience in an accounting or clerical position is preferred.
