Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized accountant to manage all aspects of Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and transactional accounting activities. This role is critical to ensuring timely and accurate financial records, supporting cash flow management, and ensuring timely vendor and customer transactions. The ideal candidate is proactive, deadline-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities- Accounts Payable (AP):
Process and pay vendor invoices by due dates. - Review and reconcile purchase orders, receipts, and vendor statements.
- Prepare and execute ACH and check payments.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with W-9 and 1099 reporting requirements.
- Accounts Receivable (AR):
Monitor accounts receivable aging and assist with collection activities as needed. - Apply incoming payments to appropriate customer accounts and invoices.
- Communicate with customers regarding payment issues, credits, and disputes.
- Reconcile AR sub-ledger to the general ledger monthly.
- Transactional Accounting:
Perform daily cash postings and bank reconciliations. - Maintain and reconcile credit card transactions, proactively working with employees and issuing bank(s) as required.
- Record journal entries and assist in general ledger maintenance.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and accruals.
- 3+ years of experience in AP/AR and general transactional accounting.
- Experience in construction, subcontracting, or service-based industries a plus.
- Proficient in Quick Books accounting software preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and automated AP/AR tools is an advantage.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
