Position: Dash 8‐300 First Officer – Aerial Firefighting Operations

🧭 What you'll do

  • Serve as First Officer on the Dash 8‑300, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient flight operations in support of wildfire missions.
  • Partner with the Captain using strong CRM to execute missions, manage checklists, and maintain situational awareness in dynamic environments.
  • Conduct thorough preflight planning, performance calculations, weight and balance, and fuel management to meet mission objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with air attack/ground agencies and company dispatch to deliver reliable, timely aerial support.
  • Champion SOPs, SMS, and a proactive safety culture; identify hazards, troubleshoot, and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Travel and deploy to international bases as required, including overnight and extended shifts during peak wildfire seasons.

  • Clear Criminal Background Check.
🧰 Minimum requirements
  • Total time: 750 hours
  • PIC time: 150 hours
  • Dash 8‑300 time in type: 200 hours
  • Type rating:
    Required on Dash 8‑300
  • Licenses: CPL, IR, ME (Open to TCCA licence holders)
  • Medical:
    Class 1
  • ICAO English:
    Level 4 or higher
  • COVID-19 vaccination:
    Required where permitted by applicable law
  • Visa sponsorship:
    Not provided
